What Is Holistic Healing?

Despite the cliches, your body is your temple. If you don't listen to it then you won't be in good shape. Your body knows exactly what it needs to be healthy. But what is health? Health is having all the natural processes of your body functioning properly to support your life. We want our body's functions at an optimal level in the intended alignment. But how do you know which functions are out of alignment and how do you realign them? That's where holistic healing comes in. I'm going to give you an in-depth explanation of holistic healing without getting too confusing. Let's get started.

Types Of Health

There are many types of health. So let's look at what they are and what they mean.

Physical Health: The condition of the body taking everything into consideration (absence of illness, disease, fitness, etc.).

Mental Health: Your condition in regard to your psychological and emotional well-being.

Spiritual Health: How much you honor the interconnectedness of life.

Overall health-wise, we're either aligned or unaligned. It may seem simple but let me explain.

When your body, mind, and soul are all functioning, there's a flow of energy going through you that's unblocked. You feel put together internally like all your chores are done and the day is still new. It's a good feeling.

When there is a blockage or resistance, your energy accumulates and becomes stagnant. This is no bueno.

What is Healing?

In the simplest form, healing is bringing alignment to any imbalance or going back to the natural state of functioning.

Everything in your body has a healthy or natural way of working, just like your mind and soul. You can feel it when you're out of balance, it feels out of place like when you look at something and it's just not quite right. Something's off. Your body signals to you that it wants to go back to that natural state and come back to harmony. The act of rebalancing is the same as healing.

What is Holistic Healing?

Unlike conventional healing, holistic healing goes much further than the "band-aid fix". The band-aid fix solution is quick but temporary and it never addresses the full underlying problems. Holistic healing, however, looks past the problem being solely physical, spiritual, emotional, or mental. This method works when we approach life from all aspects.

Holistic healing is seen as effective because it attacks the problem from every angle and the change occurs on every level. When approaching life like this, positive changes are more likely to be long-term.

So, to make a long story short, holistic healing addresses life and problem on all levels to achieve life long changes. Through holistic healing, we aim to align our bodies, minds, and souls so we can experience a happier, more balanced, and healthier life and state of being.

A Few Benefits of Holistic Healing

I will address more benefits but here are a few key benefits of healing holistically:

- You identify the root of problems

- Dispells the feeling of being purposeless

- Holistic treatments combine with conventional treatment care to eliminate anything unhealthy
